FREE Spay/Neuter Surgery for Unhomed Cats

We've expanded the Colony Cat Spay/Neuter program from Fridays only to now include EVERY Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for FREE spay/neuter surgery! That's right!  There will now be spots dedicated to colony cats each day.  We're thrilled to offer this service in partnership with the Humane Society of Marion County.

Here's the scoop:

🔹 Spot Reservation: Secure your spot by registering ahead of time through the link below.
🔹 Drop-Off: Bring your colony cats ONLY to our clinic (10397 N US-27 in Ocala) at 8 AM on the day of surgery.
🔹 Surgery & Pick-Up: Surgery takes place on the same day, with pick-up scheduled for 5 PM.
🔹 No Cost: Thanks to generous grants from Marion County, there's zero cost for colony caregivers!
🔹 Requirements: All cats must be ear-tipped. They'll receive surgery, rabies/FVCRP vaccinations, and a basic medical exam. You MUST be a Marion County resident.

🌟 Please note: This initiative is exclusively for Marion County residents. 🌟

We're committed to ensuring top-notch care for colony cats, and we're excited to provide these services to our community. Huge thanks to Marion County and the Humane Society for their invaluable support!

Join the Waitlist for Colony Support

We know caring for a colony is hard work, and it can be expensive.  Each month, we help colony caregivers by providing dry food to help feed the colonies in the local area.  Currently, we provide almost 2,000 pounds of food per month and there is still much more demand for assistance.

We'll always accept donations of dry food to share with the caregivers.  Donations can be sent to our main location, 10397 N US-27 in Ocala, or PetSmart Lady Lake, 534 US-441 in Lady Lake.

If you'd like to register for the waitlist for support, click the link below, complete the form and submit it to caregivers@shelteringhands.org.

We're thrilled to be part of CATT Marion and assist the community in addressing cat overpopulation.

CATT MARION IS A COALITION OF RESCUES AND LOW-COST SPAY/NEUTER CLINICS TO CONTROL THE CAT POPULATION IN MARION COUNTY.

PARTICIPATING RESCUES AND LOW-COST SPAY-NEUTER CLINIC.

• MARION COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES
• QUALITY OF LIFE REHAB AND FOSTER
• SHELTERING HANDS
• VOCAL FOR PETS

WHAT WE DO

  • CATT Marion targets cat colonies of 10 or more cats.

  • We schedule trapping with the caregiver and will focus on trapping all the cats in the colony at one time.

  • The cats are humanely trapped and housed before surgery

  • They are brought to the surgery facility, where they will receive their rabies and FVRCP vaccines, flea control, and left ear tip with their spay or neuter.

  • The cats are then housed for recovery and returned the day after surgery to their colony.

ALL PARTICIPATING CLINICS AND TRAPPERS DONATE THEIR TIME, SUPPLIES, AND SERVICES AT NO COST TO THE COMMUNITY CAREGIVER.

HOWEVER, DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME AND CAN BE DONATED TO ANY OF OUR PARTICIPATING PARTNERS (YOU CAN SPECIFY TO THE PARTNER THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE SPECIFICALLY FOR CATT MARION EFFORTS).
